I learned a lot.
1. I still get scared when the waves are overhead. Saturday was literally a paddleout for me with the wedding board. I struggled for 50% of the sesh trying to get out. 30% of it was resting, waiting for the right wave (mostly walled up) and 20% scraping for waves. I managed to get past the break twice.. on the third time, I was too tired to paddle back out and called it a day. A few years ago, I probably would have given it another go but the wife was there and told me to be careful.
2. With that, I realize that I have more at stake than just my life. I wouldn't want to leave this world with the wife and kid alone. I told her this on the drive home and she started to cry (hormones, I guess). She thought I was blaming her for cutting the hour sesh short. I really wasn't, I just wanted to point out that my priorities have changed.
3. Sunday was better for me. It was still big but not as consistent. I was able to get out with a few duck dives on the wedding board. I also caught 2 waves that the wife saw me catch. Sweet! I can ride the wedding board!!! I have a whole lot of learning that needs to go on with that board. I made a bottom turn and it felt like I caught the tail of my board and stopped. Don't know how to explain it. Board felt super stable though.
4. Monday was a doctor appointment day. I usually take a day off for these because I'd have to pay for parking ($7) since I'm on the vanpool. Also another opportunity to surf! Knowing that the swell was going to die down, I took out the fish. Although I caught more 5 waves, I wished that I took out the wedding board (it was in the car). The waves were still there, just a longer wait. My reasoning was the paddle in and paddleout. I didn't think I could handle the extra effort. Next time it's wedding board all the time.
5. I've completely forgotten I've named all my boards when mentioned in this blog. Ahh well. I'll try to stick to what they really are.

I'm into week 5 of the workout program. I'm for damn sure getting stronger but not losing the weight. I really need to find the happy medium of eating with my wife and not challenging her to an eating contest. Since she's pregnant, she eats a whole lot! I'm still the same weight as a I started. Feel free to send me any quick healthy meal recipes. Side note, the instructor is getting kind of annoying. I'll have to try the other audio options.

Also, when does this whole water rationing thing start? I can't stand all these people wasting water... government included! Tip of the day: turn off the water while lathering. It saves me a minute of water use. Now I gotta figure out how to save the water used while waiting for it to get warm. I think the wife would frown at a bucket in the shower.

Surf this weekend! Woo hoo!!

For all you Doo Dah Surfers

SHARK!!!!

Sunset Beach — On July 23, 2009 Scott at SunsetSurf.com received the following report from Raun; “There was a shark sighting today at Sunset Beach around 7:15 AM. I was looking out for incoming waves and saw the creature jump out of the water as if it was going after prey. I don't think I was the only one to see it as some of us paddled in a little closer to shore, but still surfed afterwards.” Please report any shark sighting, encounter, or attack to the Shark Research Committee.

KNOCK KNOCK! Who's there? SWELL!

Well, that's what all the reports say. Sweet!! I get to surf the wedding board again! FYI.. wedding board is a 5'10 SurfRX New Toy.. Then again, I've only caught 1 wave with that thing in a handful of sessions. The fish might be the call. And, good thing we have a dr. appt. on Monday.. dare I say? Three days of surf? Probably won't do the costume thing.

Surf this past weekend was ehh.. they had a contest at my favorite spot. The first wave I caught was a left that I took over into the contest area... I hate contests... especially when they post up where all the waves are. Anyway, I took the wave left and one of the groms in the contest tried to drop in on me. I just stayed on the wave. All he did was yell, "Fuck fuck fuck." Dude get a grip.. There are other waves. That's where it all went downhill. I tried to paddle back out but another contestant caught a wave. It was a right. I thought, "Hmmm, if he keeps going right, he'll hit me. Nah, he'll cut back, spray me and then finish the wave off." Uhh not so much. Little fucker just kept going and ran over the top of my board. The tanker now has a ding on the side of the nose. Small enough for me to repair but damn. The kid just said sorry and too off paddling like I was gonna beat his ass. ARGH!

Finished off the set trying to catch small waves. I could tell I was tired but not like last week. I think I'm getting used to the whole program. I'm going to try switch my Friday workout with my Wednesday workout. Friday is back and legs. I think all the pullups make me tired for Saturday sessions. I didn't lose any weight this week. My diet really sucked but I do feel a lot stronger. I amazed at how much more I can do.

So, the higher ups have decided and furloughs are going to start for us. I feel pretty lucky that it's taken this long for furloughs to start. For my salary range, I get 16 days. A lot of it will be used for dr. appts. The others, for surf days. Woo hoo!! Or, maybe I'll try to find another job. It's hard to say because my car is paid off in August. My car payment and loss in pay pretty much cancel out. Actually, I'd get an extra $100. No problem for me.. I hope.

This reminds me.. I need to email a certain someone!

Be safe in the water!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beancountingsurfer.blogspot.com/2009/07/knock-knock-whos-there-swell.html' title='KNOCK KNOCK! I've lost 3lbs since my first weigh in. I weight myself everyday and my highest weight loss was 6lbs. On those days, I at sensible... a lot of protein with veggies and fruit. The weekend was a different story. I didn't try to stuff everything in my mouth, like I normally do but I did eat until I felt I was full. On a scale of 1-10 for eating speed, I used to go at a pace of 8.5. Over the weekend it was about a 6.7.. I also stopped the HIIT because I took the day off on Wednesday (OB appt) and surfed in the afternoon. Early morning workouts take a lot out of me.

I realize I'm missing some stuff.. leave a message and I'll clear it up.

I haven't done HIIT since last Wednesday but plan to start again tomorrow... we went to a concert last night so I'm a little tired.. and there's a mountain of clothes to fold.

When I first started the program, I tried out the pull up bar that attaches to the door frame. I didn't use it because the screws left marks on the walls and the support thingies made indents. See here for fix and what the hell I'm talking about: http://www.weightloss-hq.biz/fitness-equipment/p90x-pull-up-bar.html. I started out using bands but after I found the fix, I used the pullup bar and really felt the pain and soreness.

And, this is probably the reason why I sucked it up during my Saturday sesh. I swear I couldn't catch a wave. The shape and power wasn't there but I should have caught more than I did. I stayed out for a little more than 2 hours to fill my "3 waves makes a sesh" quota. I was on my tanker, too!! And, just to make things worse, one of the older guys there (who was humping his board to catch waves) kept telling me how to surf as if I was a beginner. Argh! I hate it when people tell me that. Hopefully, my paddling strength will come back this weekend so I can redeem myself.

One good thing out of the sesh was meeting Patch. Man that guy can surf!

One of my friends, FKA Scarecrow, really wants to do the Doo Dah thing. I'm over it. Too many people and a good chance of dinging my board. She's trying to convince me so I might do it. I have a few coworkers too so her costume idea would be sweet if we all did it. Side note, I support charities so don't give me a hard time for not doing it.

I also recently purchased a buckwheat hull pillow. That thing is the shit! I swear I wake up like I've had a great nights sleep. We also have a foam bed so this pillow makes it even better.

And, I think I found my next board. I've been doing some research on Hull boards and think this would work for my ability. Really interesting board. I really need to get rid of the CIS board. Hit me up if you're interested. It's a Flyer F, I think. I'll have to look up the dims.

Later!

BACK!

Finally back on the blog. A lot has happened.. here it is in a nutshell.. or is it list?

1. Married the girl who's mom had a problem with me. Everything is great! We have our own place and are going to a grom in December. We don't want to know the sex of the baby but "If it's a boy, I only have to worry about one little dick... if it's a girl, I have to worry about a whole lot of little dicks." That is what I'll be telling my kid when they're older... "You know, we wanted you to be a surprise but (insert quote)." Honeymoon was in Bora Bora at the cuatro Seasons. Awesome place. Didn't surf but relaxed, sweated, snorkeled, swam with the sharks, fished, ate great food and sweated. Don't forget to save some money cause that place is super expensive.

2. Wife got me a 5'10 new toy. It has a plaid design using our wedding colors. I named it Plaidypus. I've surfed it about 3-4 hours total and have caught 1 wave.

3. I've gained a lot of weight back (too embarrassed to tell) so I'm taking this season off and concentrating on my family, weight loss and surfing.

4. Purchased that infomercial workout. I'll post results.

5. Budget cuts have finally hit my job... please give me the furloughs.

6. I've reduced my quiver to 6. 10' Weber Stylist, 9'6 Becker Performance (I forgot), 6'2 KG Fish, 6'6 Surf RX Single Fine, 5'10 Surf RX New Toy and a untouched 6'2 CI Flyer F. I ordered that cause I got a deal and was planning to sell it. been over a year and I'm thinking of just trading it for another board. Boards sold: 7'6 Becker LC, 6'4 Rusty Pirahna, 6'1 DLC. I think that's all?

7. Having your parents drill "family" into your head, get divorced, then remarry has messed me the f up. My dad has remarried someone younger than me.. that, up until 1.5 weeks ago, lived in another city, 17 hrs away.. by plane. My mom showed up last xmas with her bf.. that messed me up.. I don't know if they're still together (I could careless) cause I haven't seen them together.. or my mom got the not so subtle hint I gave her. I want them to be happy.. it's just hard.. I need time.. or more money.. so I can pay for therapy... surfing helps a lot though and that only costs $7RT.

8. Realized that last month was 7 years of surfing for me. I don't ever want to stop.

On tap for the rest of the week is surf (probably longboard) for the weekend, MIL's 60th bday, biking and hanging out with the wife.

There is that surf gathering at Sunset on 7/25... I'm kind of over it but my buddy loves that event and has been trying to get me to commit to it. I'm thinking about it cause her costume idea was cool.

Basic, Closed Right Turn, Closed Right Turn Open...

Woo hoo!! I got to surf twice this past weekend. Saturday, took the fish out to my favorite spot.. I could have hit the OC but didn't think it would be worth the drive (and I found out later that I made the right choice). I managed to grab a handful of waves in the 1.5 hours I was out. This was the first time I've taken this board in a long time. I caught one good sized wave but was only to bottom turn and go up the face.. then it closed out.. It was a solid popup and turn so I was stoked... I did notice, however, that I need to put some ding repair near the tail. The corner where the bottom of the board and rail meet have come apart. Sunday, I took the tanker out because I wanted to catch a lot of waves in just a short time; I only had an hour. And, I did just that. I caught a lot of waves and had a great time. I did have an incident with one other longboarder. I was on a wave and going down the line. The wave started to close out so I tried to beat it. While I was pumping, there was a guy in the water holding onto the tail of his board. He didn't hold onto his board and hit my shin when the wave closed out. I gave him the finger and paddled back out. Then he says, "That was totally uncalled for. We're all supposed to get a long." I just told him to hold on to his board and paddled away from him.. I should have told him that I value safety before getting along with others... because I think if everyone follows the rules, getting along will happen automatically.. Was I out of line? Probably. Oh well. Another incident I had was with another longboarder sitting in the inside. I've been observing him and his buddy all sesh. I tried to stay away from them because they didn't move when people were on the waves. But, I saw a set wave and couldn't resist. I whipped my board around and popped up.. out of the corner of my eye, I see another guy, with the right of way, catch the wave. I couldn't pull out of the wave because that longboarder decided to just sit where he was. I fell off my board and it almost hit the guy on the wave. Good thing he had a good sense of humor. I explained that I tried to get off but couldn't. He was cool with it.. And, he was surfing with a toothpick!!! WTF!! I pointed that out and told him it was funny.. His reply, "Can't help it, I'm a Texan." Good laugh. Ended my sesh with a closeout wave that I popped up on and then went to my belly. Surf this weekend again... Three days, hopefully! I have Monday off.

I also went to dinner with the gf's dad. It was great. I think he likes me. He offered to cook for me. The gf said, "Wow, he didn't even offer to cook for me!" Woo hoo!!

And damn the gf's mom.. her mom gave out her email to a friend that knows somebody single without her knowing. So, when her mom told her and asked for her picture, the gf said no. This really pisses me off. I feel that her mom thinks that I'm not good enough.. shit I ain't over at your house every other day for nothing! and don't give me shit about not knowing anything about me. it ain't my fault that you watch youtube (TFC) for more hours than I work in a week. FUCK!!!

RED Project update:
10/29-11/04: Ran 5 days (2miles each day) and walked 1 day for 40 minutes (2miles). Knee still kind of hurts but not as bad as before. I think I'll just keep the miles per day down and just take care of it more.

Oh yeah and I started salsa lessons!! Super fun!! And damn the gf can dance! Gotta catch up to her!! And damn the instructor.. she had some stencil temporary tatoo on her chest and wore a low top.. I COULDN'T STOP LOOKING!! Funny thing is.. I think it help me focus!! HAHHAHAAHA!! oh well.. dance shoes for next week.

I've been wanting to do a carpool entry.. I think it'll be entertaining.

LATER!

Lurker

That's what I've been the past month or so... Not much of a blogger any more... probably cause I don't have time at work and hate the thought of looking at the computer when I get home.. anyway.. some random things in a random order. The last surf session I has was on the twin fin with Scarecrow.. Only caught two waves and they closed out... bad timing because we got there at high tide.. ahh well riding two waves is better than staying at home thinking about it.

Then there was that night I took the gf out to dinner.. got all dressed up.. she was impressed.. she didn't think her chubby, short wearing, sandal smacking bf could look so good... hee hee.. I try :)... we went to this posh restaurant in the quasi-LA area.. food was good.. service sucked major ass.. took 15min just to get fucking water... she got a $2 tip... oh well.. so we left that spot and went to that place where you melt stuff for dinner.. I've been there before and the mojitos, gf's fave drink, were super good.... get there.. no mojitos... they ran out of mint!! then the gf asked for something with malibu rum.. out of that too!! dammit.. she just ordered something off the drink list.. now me... no irish beer.. ok.. vodka tonic... the vodka I wanted was out.. DAMMIT!!! Pick whatever for me bartender.... then.. another group sat at the bar... out of cuervo gold... so the bartender used something else... oh yeah.. the orange juice was frozen too.. man wtf... bartender is cool but man who is keeping track of the bar needs?

And dang.. we need some rain!! I hate breathing in ash and my room smelling like a campfire... enough already.. and damn me for not surfing this past weekend.. I saw pictures but thought it was too windy to surf... ahh fuck...

Also, I've been getting irritated by one of my good friends.. motherfucker thinks he knows everything.. I know he means well but he just talks down to me like I don't know shit.. I just appear not to know anything cause I don't think the way he does.. tough to explain without giving up a lot of detail... and it doesn't help that I work in the same company with the guy... and it doesn't help that he's super sensitive.. I hold back a lot of comments because I know it'll hurt his feelings... but he seems like he let's everything go with me... guess it's my fault for having thick skin... and I really want to tell him to grow some fucking balls... people will still be your friend if you make decisions... ahh fuck it... giving away way too muhc.. I'll just avoid him... vent over..

Surf hopefully this weekend.. and 2nd interview for a supervisor spot next week.. woo hooo!! and happy birthday to me.. tomorrow!! AHAHHAHAHA!!

The doosy!

Sorry I've been late to update.. not that anyone should really care..
but I've been busy at work and I hate going on the computer when I get home.

So let the race report begin. First, the drive up with the gf took 5.5 hours with a couple of stops for food and gas. It was really great.. she made the ride up there go fast... we saw some potential racers (they had tribikes on or in their cars) and wanted to make good luck signs.. but we didn't.. no paper.. we arrived in Santa Cruz at about 2 and hit the expo... what a disappointment! Booths are nice and the shirt is rad but how in the world do they not have gels!!! I didn't buy any before the race because I thought I could buy them.. NOPE!!! FUCK ME!!! After that hit the boardwalk then headed off to the hotel, checked in and another WTF!!! I have the timing chip, but no ankle bracelet. First, I
thought.. oh maybe they just record your time as you come into the transitions (they did this by hand at camp pendlet0n).. so I go back and ask one of the volunteers, "Hi, I didn't get a strap for my timing chip." She reaches into a box and hands me a plastci wrist band.. like the fluorescent ones you get for clubs.. dammit!! I already have one of these.. and maybe a big problem.. what if it doesn't fit around my ankle? FUCK!!! Here I was laughing at a tri company giving out free timing chip straps.. I'm such a fool... anyway, I tried it on before Ileft and it was loose...

Got back to the hotel, picked up the gf and headed out to find some gels. Rite@id.. nope! TraderJ0es.. nope! "Excuse me miss.. is there a Target around here?" She just laughed at me and said no... FUCK!!!! Then the gf suggest GNC.. SWEET there's one in town... drive towards it.. not knowing the streets and come across an outdoors store.. SWEEET!!! Pulled over and bought 6 strawberry banana.. fweeh.. now my heart can rest.. Time to go check the run so the gf knows where to cheer me on.. We went to the turn around spot and kept driving for what seemed like longer than 6.5 miles.. turned around and checked if we missed a turn.. Nope... turned around again and went further.. YUP! 6.5 miles is a long time. .even in the car.. oh man the run is gonna suck major ass! After that, we had dinner and back to the hotel.

We turned in pretty early, for us, 10pm. I woke up to our neighbor playing some damn stoner music.. something to do with weed.. couldn't go back to sleep **highlight for more information** and got frisky with the gf.. good thing it didn't last too long.. dammit!!! no sex before a race!!! Got up at 5am, showered and headed out.. late check out was 2pm
so I couldn't come back and shower.. oh well..

Got to the race and parked my bike, got body marked and headed to the water.. Side note.. gf had her new $600 purse with her and the permanent ink rubbed off my skin and onto the handle.. oops!! dang my tattoo!! the body marker had to put it on my forearm cause of it.. ahh well.. headed to the beach and tested the water.. NICE!! not too cold.. my body temp should warm up pretty fast.. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1!!!! GO!!! Run into the water and start swimming.. still with the pack.. had to push, dunk, get dunked, kicked in the ribs, kicked in the arm and elbowed in the head... GOOD TIMES!! combat swimming!! after a few minutes thepack evened out.. or they're all faster than me.. hee hee!! OR!! I swam off course!! I pick the last two!! I stopped swimming and was lookedover to my right.. oops I'm a good 50 meters from everyone.. ahh well..
keep swimming to the buoy.... got there and still see people with the same color cap (who started a the same time).. SWEET! I'm not last!! turned headed toward the beach.. the announcer said to aim for the bottom part of the hotel... so I did.. oh wait.. he meant the bottom part where it meets the ramp.. FUCK!! off course again.. and I think I
hit some good current and wasn't moving for a while.. hee hee!! One of the lifeguards had to escort me back to the pack.. SWEET!! Green caps!!! and yellow.. and orange.. and red.. AH FUCK! Keep swimming!! by now, my surf wetsuit (I waited too long to rent one.. and the place that I thought would have it only had sleeveless ones) worked my neck.. see pics below.

Out of the water and into the transition (about a two blocks). Saw the gf cheering me on and man that felt really good. Took off the wetsuit and put on the bike gear.... (speaking of wetsuits.. scarecrow and I were changing into our suits and she was having the hardest time putting hers on.. "WTF!! Dude I think I gained major weight!" I started laughing at her and waxed my board. She was still struggling and cussing by the time I was finished. I went over and told her to hurry up.. then I heard her laugh aloud.. "Dude!! I was putting my foot in the arm!!!" AHHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Oh man that was great!!!) dang it!! my socks got wet!! oh well, they'll dry on the bike.. the thought of blistered feet kept running threw my head as I ate half a powerbar and drank some water... ran out of the transition and saw the gf again.. SWEEET!!! On to 56 mile of flat to moderately rolling hills... so I thought..

On the bike is a relatively easy hill.. I granny gear it and pass some of the women that go out of the water before me and start to get comfortable. I'm hitting about a 20mph average and feeling good. Not much to really talk about for the first half except the fact that the salt pills I put in my bent0 box got crushed and all I had was dust.. I probably looked like a drug addict out there. Eating while pedaling wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.. I was afraid I'd look down too long and crash but I didn't.. Oh yeah and another dumb move by me.. I forgot to reset my bike computer.. I didn't know what mile I was on!! DAMMIT!! I did get to see the leaders on their way back.. man they looked like they weren't even trying!! must be nice.. oh yeah.. and I got passed by everyone and their grandma.. no seriously!!!

Finally the turnaround!! I was starting to get bored! Ok, time to conquer those rolling hills.. that to me were really hills and get a negative split. Yeah not so much.. Those hills were tough.. I think the route back was uphill.. I got passed by a lot more people.. this really big guy just ate the hills up and blew past me.. probably in the clydesdale division.. and they probably started last.. FUCK!! Then I looked at my average mph.. oh wait!! I'm averaging about 18.6mph.. sweet!! And!! bombing the hills was super fun.. I hit 40mph numerous times and without pedaling... It helped a lot going up the hills because my momentum took me halfway up... Finished the bike and saw the gf again.. put the shoes on.. oh yeah.. socks haven't fully dried yet so uh oh.. ate the other half of the powerbar put my gear on and headed out.. up the hill and checked my pace on my watch.. 10:30.. sweet! about 500yrds after I started, my back starts to hurt.. WTF!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I start to walk and stretch it out.. but it didn't work.. fuck it.. I didn't train 6 months and give up so much of my social life to quit.. It's gonna be a long day!!!! Pass mile 1 and anything faster than a jog hurt so bad.. I try to ignore it but can only do it for a few minutes.. I ended up running about 4 mins and walking about 7 mins. wash, rinse, dry and repeat.. and you know that hickey my wetsuit gave me? sweat started to hit it and it hurt like hell!! there was lots of encouragement out there so that was a plus... and note to race directors.. how about putting the portopotties after the food? I'm just sayin... smellin poo doesn't really help the food... at about midpoint, I see the gf waiting and she yelling at the top of her lungs, "Stop walking!!!!" That cracked a smile so I jogged over to her and she gave me a huge hug. I told her I wanted to quit and she said to shut up and no quitting... so I kept truckin and hit the turn around... a five foot tiki thing... I smacked that thing so hard and started running... ALMOST DONE!! I managed to run about another mile then shut it down again... walked and run the last 6 miles... then I saw the beach and the finish line... I picked it up a bit then I hit the sand.. everything hurt while I was running.... running in sand sucks major ass.. but I got to the hard packed part and it was ok.. Cheers!! Chills!! and soft sand were at the finish line... I managed to pass some older guy, that was probably in a later heat and met the gf at the finish line...

Great race.. I 6hrs 56min... 26 min over my real goal.. I think I could have gone under 6hr 30min without the back problem.. maybe even closer to 6hrs
40 min swim... right on target.. faster if I didn't go off course
3hr 2min bike... about right for me.. about 18.6mph.. hillier than I thought.. well at least by my standards
3hr 5min run.. dammit.. I was trying to finish under 3 hrs with the bad back.

After the race, I got an ice pack from the med tent and hit the food.. Burritos and water!! SAWEET!! We headed back to the car and then picked up my bike... I asked around for public showers but nobody knew where they were.. ahh well.. 5.5hr stink ride home it is... We stopped by a store to pick up some stuff for the neck.. baby wipes to the rash!! damn that shit hurt really bad.. I don't recommend it... The gf drove us home, we had dinner and went to bed... what a great trip! I'll think about racing this again next year.. but I have other stuff to look into.. like more school!

The week following, I did absolutely nothing... ate everything in sight and enjoyed being fat... That Saturday, 9/15, was the N!ke run... I had a great plan of running.. well walking it and filling my hydration pack with guinness!! I started drinking while in the car and noticed that it was getting warm.. I walked around looking for ice... NO ICE to be found... some security guy even came up to me and asked me if I needed help.. DOH!! hope you don't smell the beer!! We hit the starting line a few minutes after and I was left behind after the gun... fuck it.. I'm walking and drinking.. and wanting to pee!!! I hit up a shop and used their bathroom.. I also hit up BeanCoffee and got some ice.. I asked the girls there if they wanted some beer.. the manager in the back didn't look too happy... so I bought a rice krispy treat and finished the run... it was pretty fun but don't think I'll be doing this again.. too many people and they had a timing malfunction so the start wasn't recorded.. that wouldn't make a difference if you started at the front. Ahh well!

This past weekend I finally got wet.. after a month of being landlocked... semi bump with thigh high sets.. not the best, but it wasn't crowded and I had the buffet board.. took me a few waves to dial the board back in but after that I was good to go.. only surfed for about 2hrs and called it quits.. I rested up and then picked up the gf to see DonovanFrankenreiter and special guests.. they were (ones that I liked) Hawk, SugarRay and Pennywise!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA! OH OH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! great surprise!

Now I'm back into the swing of things... running, biking and swimming again.. goals for this winter is to shed some major poundage... I started a contest with my friends called the lightest loser.. $200 to the winner with the highest % of weight loss.. SAWEEET!!

Randomness:
I was driving to the gf's place and saw a construction van with a DP plate.. WTF!! that doesn't make sense.. someone explain that to me!

I think the gov is out to get me.. first jury duty.. then I got a ticket for the no left during 8-12.. then i got a parking ticket.. Two more weeks until the big race... Ah yeah!! Time to let the body heal and get rid of this clicking noise I hear when I walk up stairs... pretty gross.. So far, I've rested two days in a row and my legs feel a lot better... reduced hours but still the same intensity.. Oh yeah.. forgot to mention.. the new speed record on the COW is now 26mph (see below)! Oh man that feels rad!

I'm taking you guys back a few days so bear with me.. Wednesday, I went for a 30min bike then 2hr run.. 13 minutes into the bike, I hear the cling of metal and my tire losing air.. Dammit!! Whatever, good chance to practice changing my tire and using the CO2 pump. OH SHIT!! there's a slah all the way across the middle of the tire!! I tried the dollar trick and hoped it would be able to hold until I got home.. I was 4 miles away.. pumped it up and pop! DOH!! tube went right through the slash.. great!! oh yeah, CO2 pump is rad!!! The one time I don't bring my cell phone!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! So, I put the tire back on, took off my shoes and walked my goofy looking ass to the nearest shopping center, a half mile away... I phoned my aunt from a sandwich shop.. Thanks for letting me use the phone!! and got home.. Ahh well.. Swam and biked Thursday and made it up for the blown workout on Friday... I was running pretty fast for me. Averaging a 9min mile after 6 miles.. then I got a crap and walked.. then I sat down and it went away.. finished the run with 11 miles in 1hr 45 min.. Hung out with the gf after.. she surprised me and came home early from her trip.. woo hoo!!! we just chilled.. good times and I dont know why...

Saturday, I biked for 3hrs but skipped the run.. my legs were way too tired to hit the run.. ahh well.. two long days back to back has got to make up for something right? And if you remember, this was gf's party.. the one where I wasn't going cause she had to handle her shit.. Um yeah.. that didn't last too long.. It was either she wanted me there or the booze.. or both.. but she ended up calling me at 9pm.. i got there when the ex got there.. I didn't even know it!!! I took a seat next to a friend and saw the gf with her arm around some dude... jealousy kicked in big time.. must have been the look on my face because my buddy told me the ex was the guy talking to them (He looked gay, btw) and the guy she had her arm around was gay.. HAHAHHAAHH!! FWEEEH!!! Few minutes later, she walked him out and I never saw him again.... I must have had 6 or 7 shots within an hour and it was nighty night... I was trying to sing karaoke in tagalog but ended up falling asleep on the couch. damn the training sesh! woke up at 6am, put the gf in her bed and went home to sleep most of the day off.. i tried to surf, but the body wasn't havin it..

Monday-Thursday was taper week.. I missed a 40 min run so I made it up with the next day's training... which happened to be an hour bike ride... oops! Taper.. what taper? Also, I have the raddest story ever!! I was biking on Wednesday and on my way back, another cyclist came up behind me.. whatever... I was cruising at 23mph.. I could still hear him behind me clicking his pedals.. then I thought I'd try to drop him so I upped it to 25mph.. click click click!!! WTF!! the guy even passes me!!! I catch up to him and were at a light.. we both start off slow, then pick it up.. Then I pass him at 26mph and can still hear him.. FUCK THIS GUY!!! NO DRAFTING!! I shift and crank it for the next mile and half.. 28.6mph!!!!!! (I started this entry on Monday and finishing it on Friday!!!) I looked back and he was about a half mile away! AHH YEAH!! Don't mess with the fat guy!!! I'm thinking 30mph is my goal.. maybe during the winter? I'm still on that high!!!

HIM update.. I still haven't reserved a hotel.. uh oh!!! This weekend is SD with the gf and some other friends.. I thought about surfing but I don't want to get hurt so I'll pass... Ordered another surfboard.. the CIFLYER 6'2.. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that a FUCK YOU goes out to the chick at the Redond0 beach warf.. I don't care if I have to pay full price for a refill.. I wanted to waste another cup... and don't look at me like I'm stupid, dumbshit!

On that note.. LATER!!! Get some waves for me!!!

WRE!!!

Updates in order:
surf
triathlon
gf

Surf: Haven't really surfed much the past few weeks. I did call in sick last Friday and paddled out... I wanted to hit up the 'Bu and took the wrong road down.. DAMMIT!! Traffic!! Then, I made a left on a street at 8am.. NO LEFT 6a-9a.. OH SHIT!! Got a ticket.. don't know how much it'll be but there goes a few hundred bucks.. FUCK! Then, when I got to the 'Bu, FLAT!! FUCK again!!! I was going to turn around and hit my favorite spot.. when I got there, FLAT again!! FUCK three times!!! I still suited up and had a great leashless session. I lost my board a few times. One time, I lost it and it almost hit one of the locals cause we were on the same wave and heading toward each other.. he was ok.. probably shit his wettie though.. surf this weekend for sure.. surfsister? sharkbait?

Triathlon: Holy crap the past few weeks have been brutal! My knee keeps clicking, my body is sore and I have hours to make up.. This week, I have two long workouts.. the first, I tried to do yesterday. A 30 min bike followed by a 2hr run.. for some reason I was excited to go through it... I hit the turn around for the bike and POP!! dammit!! flat tire!! there was a gash across the middle that I could stick my finger in... this was really bad and thought if I could fix it and get home, I could still run.. I changed the tube and POP!! FUCK!! blew out right through the gash.. I even did the dollar trick.. dammit!! made the .5 mile walk in my socks cause I didn't want to mess up my shoes.. got home at 7:30.. too late to run.. so today, Friday, is makeup day and I'm $50 lighter.. then tomorrow, surf with surfsister, hopefully, and then a 3hr ride topped off with a 20min run.. GOOD TIMES!!!

GF: Dude this is the Weirdest Relationship Ever!! First, she gives me a hard time all the time with everything.. Her favorite words to me are: No, not, nope, whatever, maybe, thinking thinking thinking and blah blah blah.. I got over it and figured she says that stuff just to mess with me.. guess you really have to check the text messages to understand.. Second.. our friend that introduced us is really nosey.. he talks to both of us and tries to get the deep stuff (apparently, the gf tells him and his wife a lot of secrets).. so the gf and I agreed to just give him surface stuff... surface stuff doesn't include telling them that we're bf&gf.. whatever... I understand.. Third.. this is where it gets really weird.. on Tuesday, she sees her ex at a gathering and asks him if he's coming to her bday party on Saturday.. she thought he would say no but was wrong.. so now she'll have her ex and current bf there... what does she ask me to do? Not go!! WTF!! this is where I lost it.. silent treatment!!! She ended up coming over and we talked things over.. FUCKING WEIRD I TELL YOU!! I agreed to it? Dammit!! Fourth!!! I asked if I could take her out on her Birthday, Wednesday. Cool.. things are set.. On Tuesday, her bro asks her to have dinner for her bday on Wednesday also... she says she has plans and says declines.. her bro gives her a lot of shit about it.. then I get a call.. NO DINNER!! WTF!! why am I getting punished? she says she's gonna pack for her business trip and do nothing.. and tells me dysfunctional family.
Why am I still with her? I can see it in her eyes that she deals with things differently.. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.. and next week better be fucking rad!

Later!!! TAPER TIME!!!

Number One Knuckle Head

Haven't really done much but train and date the girly... but it has proven to be a lethal combination... last week, I saw her 5 of 7 days.. during the week, it was after about 1.5-2 hr sessions and then hang with her till way past the beancounter's bed time... and damn I never thought I could text as much as I do. BAD IDEA! I had to run for 90 minutes!!! I made it to 3.5 miles and couldn't stand it anymore so I started walking.. walked for about 5 mins and started up again.. stopped at mile 5 and walked again for 10 min.. ran the last 2 miles and finished up with 7.5 miles in 80.. not bad considering I was walking a lot... but damn, it's really hard to HTFU when you have the bubble guts.. I had to fart but was afraid I would shart so I held it in.

Just thought I'd let you guys know... AND DAMMIT!! best bud's sister spelled my name with a Y!!!! GRRRRR!!! I think everyone thought I was crazy for taking a quarter of it home.. but damn.. MMMMMMMMMMMM!!! got to meet a couple of her friends and bro... they're fun and funny..

Saturday, hit up the favorite spot with scarecrow.. aka the pirate.. with her new 9'0 and me with the buffet board... she already has a ding near the tail!! AHAHAHHA!! she was having a little trouble catching the waves and after I told her to adjust her position (move back) she caught a few... too bad they were at the end of the session... I was a wave magnet again... two waves of note... first was the guy policing the line up... he was telling some dude the rules of surf.. at a high volume.. whatever... 15min later, I caught a wave and he pulled off when I came flying down the line.. what does this guy say when I start paddling out again.. "nice wave, but too bad it was all white wash.." WTF!! I was on the wave and didn't see white water until the wave closed out... damn, some guys just think they're the shit... Wave dos was rad... I've been watching a guy nose ride the whole sesh.. and noticed that he did a little shuffle before he cross-stepped.. HMMM!!! I tried it and did my first official nose ride!!! It was fucking rad!! Too bad the buffet board needs some fixin so it's on the shelf waiting to be taken to the infirmary...

Sunday was tri day... swam 30 min (that was hell cause I was sore from the 2.5hr sesh) 2 hr bike (17.6mph) and a 30 min run... so cool!!! I took the bike a little easy but the run was rad! I was cruising at a 9:30 min mile and blasted the last mile at 8:40.. Self high five!! Oh yeah.. I waved at another cyclist on the other side of the road while I was riding and he yelled at me.. he yelled, "Hey!" Maybe he knows me? Doubt it...

Training has been going great!! I did 1500meters in 27 mins.. shaved off 3 minutes!! and then my time trial bike course... did it in 47 min.. shaved off a minute!!! HEE HEE!! FAT AND FAST(er than your normal fat guy)!!

And WTF people that swim at the pool! Dude, you can fit 2 people in a lane!! no need to wait for people to finish using the lane by themselves.. just jump in and swim.. and don't try to ask me if we can split the lane while I'm touching the wall and headed out for another lap... water clogs my ears.. I'm just sayin!!

This weekend is run bike run on Saturday and 5k race with some friends... surf? maybe not... looks like its time for another sick day!!

Keep it grass roots

Holy crap, I just heard a Cantonese version of Name that tune on KR0Q!! Fucking hilarious!!!! AND!! All the contestants got them right!!! AHHAHAAHHAA!!!

So, I've started dating a friend of a friend.. she's pretty cool.. I guess... we've gone out three times and all great times.. note to self... don't drink too much liquid courage!!! HAHAHAHA!! Oh, the pictures!!! And Chuck and L@rry is hilarious!! A joke in every scene.

Also, last week was rest week... minimal hours of training and a chance to let my body recover.. probably the reason why I had the dates during the week and drinks... Friday nite, I went out to H00ters with the date and friends.. had too many drinks and ended up in bed at 4am... 6:30 and I'm up, throw on the costume, picked up the pirate and headed down to the Doo Dah... DAMN!! there were a lot of people.. the pirate and I were #56 on the picture board.. with the huge crowd, I'm surprised nobody got hurt... I was kind of scared to paddle back out with all those people coming at me... OH THE HORRIBLE MEMORIES!!! (I've been skegged in the head when some chick decided to run me over when 4 people were already on the wave) Overall good times!! I tried someone else's board... it was really thin and thick.. a lot different from the Buffet board... I won a towel (that I gave to pirate) and dvd.. sweet... then they were throwing out towels and pirate caught one so we both have one!! While waiting for the board to be raffled off, I had a chance to check it out... ehhh... I'm sure they put a lot of work into it, but I'd for sure pass on it.. looked like something from a swapmeet.. oh well... Overall a great time but I don't think I'll be doing it next year... WAY TOO MANY SPONSORS!!! Plus I read CONS and he scored some waves further south.. Oh well..

Sunday, I had to run 6 miles pretty hard.. just to see what speed I'm at... I was surprised to see a 8:30min/mile average on my watch and was able to keep it up for 3 miles.. then my foot started to hurt and mile 4 I just stopped from the pain... sucks that I didn't finish.. I still had the lungs for it but I'm stoked to go faster than 10min/mile... On a side note, there was a young couple in an suv.. the bf in the passenger side told his gf to stop cause I was coming pretty close... Not once did she look over and forgetting about stopping... Fuck it... I sprayed their car with my water bottle!! The bf gets really mad (I think I got him wet cause his window was wide open) and he yelled, of all things, "Fuck you bitch!! Don't run here!!" Umm yeah..... great threat.. dumb shit.. then I got all paranoid that they would come back and I was already tired.. they didn't... I hope they cleaned off drink I had or else it's sticky city!!

And last night, Tuesday, on my run, I saw a lady walking next to her two girls (on bikes) without helmets.. I caught up to her and told her she needs to put helmets on her kids.. what does she say. "I know I should, but I couldn't find the helmets in the van.." WTF!! That is the lamest excuse.. EVER!! You want to put your kids in danger because you forgot to pack their helmets!! Dumb bitch... you're at the park!! let them play on the playground!! FUCK!!! there are some stupid people in my city!!!

Sorry for the vent session.. I need to get laid or get some good surf!!

Surf Saturday and mini tri on Sunday... oh yeah and take the buffet board to the "doctor." LATER!!

Does your dog hump your leg?

"Is your dog in heat and humping anything it can wrap its horny little legs around? Man, he's gotten so much better!! I remember when he had all these tubes in him and now he's trying to walk, is feeding himself and his speech has gotten a lot better. So good to see. Maybe at the end of the year, he'll be outta there.

Finished my drive down to Irvine, stopped by Sp0rts Auth0rity and picked up some goggles cause I forgot mine at home, then some Jack in the Crack and then to the best bud's apt. I laced up my shoes with some bungee type laces-Yankz! while I ate and made sure everything was ok... couldn't fall asleep quickly and when I did, the best bud's bf came in around 2... it's cool, they were somewhat quiet but I had just fallen asleep and thought they were going to stay up and drink some more but they didn't.. I got a little annoyed but it's probably cause I think the best bud's bf is a douche.. ehh what are you gonna do.. woke up at 5:30, took a shower and headed out..

Drive out there was pretty easy.. I'll post a race report at the bottom. I finished 9 minutes over my goal, got beat by a 76yr old by 6 minutes and got smoked by a girl in the last 100 ft... great race!!

After that, I headed back to the best friend's place and got some In n 0ut... a 3x3, fries and a vanilla milkshake to be exact.. mmmm!!! There was this one guy that ordered 50 burgers and 25 fries!!! DAMN!!! I've never seen anyone order that much while I was in line.. he needed one of those milk trays to carry them out.. I wonder if he got to keep the tray? After that, I could not get up from the couch!! Not because I was sore but because I watched 3 episodes of M@n vs. Wild... That show is rad!!! Hit up a friend's bbq before I went home and called it an early night...

Sunday, I wake up at 645 to someone yelling.. I'm thinking, "Damn, who the hell is yelling at this time?" Then I hear my dad storm out of his bedroom yelling, "Motherfuckers.." once I hear that, I instantly think that he's gonna talk to the person yelling.. then I hear the rest, "Motherfuckers won't even wake up!!" apparently a pipe busted in his bathroom and he was yelling for us so we could turn off the water while he was catching the water... this really pissed me off and lit a fire under my ass to really get the fuck out... Who calls their sons "motherfuckers?" I hope I never grow up to be like him...

After that fiasco, I packed up the buffet board and headed out. Super small surf and a little bit of a chill... I knew I was tired and something didn't feel right but I stayed in anyway.. there was a guy on a 10'6 dewey performer.. DAMN!! I didn't know they came that big.. he was really diggin my board and I wanted to try his.. I was too afraid of him going king kong on mine so I decided not to trade.. after an hour and a half of sole slappers, a set wave came up so I paddled like hell for it.. so did everyone else... I whipped around and thought I was in the best spot... right before I popped up, someone calls me off.. this guy is engulfed in white water... I give him the "you gotta be kidding me look" and pull off.. It was really hard to pull up and when I did, my board was sticking over the wave.. what does this jackass do? He decides to try and smack the lip, throw some spray on me or scare me... fucker spears my board... thanks for that! he could have just gone down the line and still worked the wave.. DAMMIT!!! Guess I'll be visiting aquatech.. I'll surf the buffet board at the doo dah but with some duct tape.. got out after a few more waves...

Overall, Sunday probably wasn't the best time to surf... my arms were dead, I got called motherfucker by my dad and the buffet board got speared... I should have just gone on my bike ride...

Finalized my costume for Saturday.. hope I don't drown!!!

Race Report:
Thursday night, I got about 3-4 hours of sleep so Friday, all I wanted to do was go to the best bud's place and sleep.. got there about 8, prepared my gear, ate dinner and watched some tv... asleep.. or trying to around 10.. finally fall asleep around 12 and then get woken up by the douche and his friends at 2... i think they left 45min-1hr later.. few hours of sleep, get up, shower and I'm out.. clifbar, chocolate milk and sports drink on the way.. damn, we have to park in a dirt lot.. carry my bike about 100yrds and walk to the bike transition.. damn, I should have just rode my bike there.. I was dripping sweat by the time I got there.. get body marked, pick up my shirt, chip and cap then head over to my wave rack... had to rack with the chicks cause my wave rack was full.. oh well.. head down to the swim start, chat it up with some racers, the national anthem and then the start.. I was in wave 6 and started 25 or 30 min after the first wave.. I was racing in the fat guy division and thought it would be cool to pass some people.. man I like racing with the old guys.. they're funny.. they asked if we could just swim to the first buoy.. then the chants started.. some guy yelled, "Let's go old guys!!" then I yelled, "Let's go fat guys!!" then another guy yelled, "Let's go old and fat guys!!!" and finally one guy said, "Damn, we have the women behind us!! I really like the idea of all these women chasing me but only chasing, not passing!!" Hilarious.. *air horn* and we're off!! I've never experienced the carnage of a mass start.. guys were swimming over me, hitting my feet, head and arms.. I had to push a guy to the side cause he swan at an angle in front of me.. after the first buoy, I had some open space and settled in.. near the last buoy (which meant 300 or so meters) I see white caps.. SWEET!! oh wait, those are blue caps!!! WOMEN!! DAMMIT!! Oh well.. get to shore, run half on the beach and the other on pavement to the transition.. a total of 400yrds or so.. I'M SO TIRED!! Shot of gel washed down with sports drink, and I'm off.. bike was really fun.. I got scolded for staying on the left going over the bridge "Get over to the right!!" Oops!! Then again, the bridge was closed to traffic so he could have gone to the other lane.. ehh!! I took turns passing people and then getting passed by them.. a little after the second half of the bike, I could feel myself slowing down... damn I knew I should have brought the gels.. then the 76 yr old guy passed me.. I told him he was my idol while I was trying to keep up with him then he disappeared.. get into the transition and damn it's hot!! I run to the rack, shot of gel and off and running... HOT!! I thought I was going to explode!! I backed it down a bit and threw water on me at every aid station... I did get to pass a few guys on the run but I knew I was running slow cause I was comfortable.. there were a lot of hot women!!! old and young.. squish.. squish.. squish!!! damn, shoes are soaking wet!! please no blisters!!! turned the corner after the 2nd loop and almost done... Sweet!! nobody around me.. then WTF!! a girl blows by me and the marines cheering us on saw the expression on my face and laughed.. ahh well!! there are a lot of other people that are faster than me...
Swim time: 37min- about right with that long run
Bike: 1:27- good enough for me considering the nutrition problem
Run- 1:06-dammit!! I knew I was running slow.. 1.5min slower than my race pace..
Finish 3:09- 9min over my goal.. but breaking 3hrs is doable

All things considered, a great race and great training session!! I figured out my nutrition (BRING SOME!!) The marines were great and I tried to thank everyone of them... and post food was water and oranges.. I swear they were the sweetest I've ever had.. I ate 9 or 10 wedges... after that, I changed and stood in line for a massage.. I really think this helped me recover... towards the end of it, it was time to close up shop.. OOPS!! My bike was still racked.. good thing I wasn't the only one out there..AHHAHAHA.. got back to the friends place, took a nap and watched 3 episodes of M@n vs Wild.. great show!! Definitely will do this next year and back down the training the week before... Now my background isn't working??!?!?!! I'll get to this soon... time for the Beancountingsurfer to recap the past few days..

Friday, I took a vacation day so I could take my NZ cousins to Magic Mtn... and I have no idea what you're talking about, Surftwin.. Swedes and Magic Mtn? Huh? Know any single female swedes in the Southern California area? I love that accent.. any way.. back to the story... I surfed the bu for about 2 hours and caught 3 or 4 rides on the fish.. one really long one... I was trying to place myself in the lineup.. trying to figure out who could catch waves and where the sections were barely makeable... I'm really tentative at this spot cause of all the people that just drop in on you... pretty fun sesh though.. the crowd was really mellow.. I think they all knew each other.. that's really cool.. I wanna grow old and surf with my buddies.. then again, I need to find some surf buddies... Got home, showered, picked up the kids and headed out... Damn it was HOT!! I couldn't stop sweating!! The sesh probably didn't help much in that dept either but oh well.. got to go on my favorite rides and eat funnel cake... and a big Fuck You goes out to Taco Bell in Valencia.. I forgot what street it was on.. but it took more than 15 mins to have our orders done... by that time I was pissed and asked for our money back.. the dumb shit at the register and "look down at the floor the whole time" manager offered excuse after excuse.. an apology would have fixed everything... FUCK YOU TACO BELL!! I wasn't going to call the regional office but I think I will now.. bastards..

Next morning wasn't my day.. first, I woke up late to surf, then I dropped my water bottle I use for rinsing and broke it, then I had gas from the yogurt I had earlier (farting while surfing is funny), then I got mad at myself for bringing the buffet (I should have taken a smaller board), then I got madder for not bringing the full suit (I was kinda cold), then I got madder for some guy getting in my way on a set wave.. I pulled up and he told me he didn't move cause he didn't think the wave caught me.. WTF!! I'm on the buffet board motherf-er!! then I got madder cause my 13 yr old cousin has a boy that wants to or is her boyfriend.. found this out at her bday party... then I got madder that I didn't stay to finish the whole movie.. my brother told me she ended up wearing his jacket... then I got madder cause something hit the hood of my car... probably from the football that was being tossed around at the bday party.. Ugh!!! That was just Saturday!!!

Sunday, slept in, had lunch with the mom, bro's and bro's gf, then ran 8 miles... I found out that I need more than 4 hours to recover from eating a lot of bbq..burping it up for 90mins is no fun.. yeah I run slow... SO!!!! the route had 2 long hills!!!

Then Monday's workout sesh pissed me off.. I encountered family fun day at the pool.. motherf-ers just walking around with no organization.. after 2 minutes of waiting, I asked them to stay to one side of the lane.. I also added my coworker on a certain space site and I asked about some of her friends.. why in the world does she gotta say.. oh yeah, I talked to my friend and she's single... umm yeah thanks for that... oh well....

And today, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the smell of my deodorant.. smelled good in the store.. DAMMIT!! and now my background isn't working for my blog!! WTF!!! I gotta fix that...

Finally!!! My costume for the Doo Dah Surf might not happen.. it was such a great idea.. making it from scratch has is becoming difficult and I just don't want to spend that much money for a one time use costume.. but I've come up with a few ideas...

So don't forget.. DOO DAH SURF 7/21/07!!!!

Doing my first olympic tri of the season this weekend.. looking to break 3hours... 30 mins off last year's (different course).. wish me luck!!!

Empty

It's been a busy week!!! Last Saturday, I surfed for 2.5 hrs in shin high waves... really good choice taking out the buffet board.. I did manage to snag 2 out of 3 set waves so that was cool... no waves to really talk about.. just mind-clearing effortless surf... well sort of effort less... took a nap then hit the road for a mini reverse tri... 3 mile run, 18 mile bike and 30 min swim... run and bike went great... I felt really fast and comfortable.. the swim, on the other hand was bad... I think I was too tired from the surf sesh.. only swam for 15 min and did about 500m then I just cut it short and headed home... after a quick nap, I hung out with the relatives from NZ (3 boys 13, 10 and 6)..

Sunday, woke up and took my cousins and the NZ to the beach for some surf... only the 13 and 10 yr olds from NZ surfed... basically wind swell so the waves just kept coming near shore... they both managed to stand up and ride a couple waves in.. pretty impressive... one of them stood up on their first try.. then again, I pushed them in... after that, hit the valley for my nephew's baptism.. damn it was hot!! and it didn't help that I was surfing earlier... SWEAT CITY!!! I left after an hour..

Tuesday night, I saw Tr@nsformers!!! Soooooooooooooo good!! I loved it!!! It held up to the hype... Wednesday, I helped my mom move into her new place... in 95 degree weather.. good thing her place is on the second floor instead of the third... I convinced her to change floors because the previous one was way in the back and the path had poor light.. and this is what I think has gotten my stomach in knots.. I've had the shits for the past week and half... yes, I still live at home but it was only to play referee.. now that mom is moved out.. I kinda miss having a full house no matter how dysfunctional it is.. I don't know how to explain it.. kinda like something is missing.. ugh this sucks.. hold me... I'm looking for a new place, something closer to work and the beach.. now I can really start concentrating on myself... I just need to get out of this funk...

I'm off tomorrow, Friday.. gonna take the kids to Magic Mtn.. I've read about the swell so maybe I'll do some dawn patrol (maybe T0panga or the bu... then old faithful.. which ever one is better) and get back before10.. oh man.. another long day of fun!!!

Irritated!!

But at least I'm over my cold. Training has been going great. I forgot what it feels like to breath through my nose.

Now to the Irritated part. Numero Uno... had to swim Wednesday nite for training. While in the locker room, I look in the mirror and notice a slimmer BeanCounter and get stoked.. I'M READY TO SWIM! Showered up and headed for the pool. As I walked up, I could see a lady doing some "aerobic moves" through the fence. I opened the door and saw 3 ladies doing water aerobics in the pool. I asked when the class would be over, the instructor said it started at 6.. 5 minutes ago. DAMMIT!! But, she said to get in the pool.. SWEEET!! Then I confirmed, can I swim laps... All together, "No. But, you can join us..." I say forget it and start walking back.. then I hear, "Come on, we won't bite, join us.." WTF?!? I just want to swim.. so 24hr Fitness... FUCK YOU!!! 3 ladies in a 3 lane, junior olympic pool... ugh.. there's room for everyone!!! Oh yeah, the 3 ladies didn't look like they took showers either (dry hair)..

Number 2!!! Parking.. I didn't carpool this morning and therefore had to pay for parking.. my ridecard allows me to get a blue permit (better parking).. so at the kiosk this morning, I hand the attendant my money and ridecard.. she asks, "Lot 2 or Lot 5?" I answer.. "As long as it's blue.." She walks away, slaps on the day permit and I head to my lot... the gate card doesn't work!! DAMN YOU MISO(attendant)!!! I drive back and tell them that it doesn't work.. She says, "I gave you lot 5." WTF!! I said BLUE.. She goes back and talks to the other attendant and figures it out... man... aren't most people at a very popular U C supposed to be smart? I didn't say Blue for nothing...

3rd and Final.. read Whiff's blog about the Surfline Goodwill Tour. I have deleted Surfline from my surf links and will be boycotting the following: Barra Events, Surfline, Billabong, Wavehunters, Quicksilver, Sol Beer, Mexicana Airlines, NSL, HSS, Third Point... FUCK YOU GUYS.

Surf needed.

FLU!!!

Totally forgot about Go surfing day!! I think I was sick.. don't think I really got over my sickness (read: call in sick then surf for 2.5hrs or so). It came back with a vengeance and took me out Thursday nite. Called in sick Friday and finally got to see what my bed does all day.. pretty much nothing... Slept pretty much the whole day and ate every now and then... oh yeah and blew my nose forever!! Hit up Er0ticala with one of my buds.. that was a great time.. probably not the best idea but I didn't want to flake. Soldier! AHAHAHH... Saturday, slept all day again and then took my cousin to see F@ll Out B0y... pretty sad crowd... half the floor was full and the top section of the venue was empty.. but damn they rocked.. my ears haven't rung that much in a while.. Sunday was the same too..

I did manage to swim yesterday, Monday nite... and I think I'm almost over it. Going to finish out my medicine... we gettin any surf this weekend? I wouldn't mind if it were flat cause I have two sets of families coming to visit... can you say: Time Man-age-ment?

Oh yeah and I read someone's Ironman race report... hmmm..
