3 Days.. 3 Different Boards

Last Friday, I left work and headed for Sunse+. Not much really going on but there were a few sets rolling in (if that's what you want to call them). I took the fish and caught a dozen or so waves, mostly closeouts. Nothing much to report on but I was having an easy time getting into the waves. 2 hour sesh.

Saturday, I hit my favorite spot with the 9'6 longboard and caught a lot of the set waves. Me and this other guy were holding down a spot and I told him it's hitting right here and he replied, "Yeah and it's like nobody wants to catch waves here." And, I think I fixed my going left problem. I caught a peeler and did some pumps. Ended the ride early cause I couldn't believe what I was doing. One of the last waves of the 2.5 hr sesh was a right that I took pretty far and got covered and smothered at the end. Good times. Once I got home, I rode to the next city over and picked up some things my aunt requested for my vacation to NZ. So stoked on that. Don't think I'll be able to surf there though. BRRRR... and probably be too busy doing things that might kill me (bunjee jumping, rafting and checking out the Lord of the Rings set.. did they kill all those orcs?)

And another note, I'm not really that close with my dad, but he sure rocks.. he swapped out the broken water heater (with my help), changed some things in the surf truck and mowed the lawn in about 4 hours.... thanks man!!

AND THE SURF TRUCK IS ALIVE... AGAIN!! WOO HOO!!!

Sunday, was Easter so I didn't have a lot of time to surf, 1.5 hours. I took the Rusty out and damn I was on fire!! This was the first time I've caught waves on this board without any trouble. Caught a dozen or so waves, which was good enough for me. My last wave, the best, looked like a closeout. So I made eye contact with the hot dogger down the way and started to paddle towards the left.. he's really fast so I didn't want to drop in on him.. When I started to paddle, all I heard was, "What it look like brah!?!?" And it was on! I caught the wave and did some pumps. Took the wave pretty far and pretty long. Great way to end the sesh. Then Easter with the family, a nap and some guitar. I'm getting hooked on playing it.. need to learn to read notes... tabs for now...

I also finally did my taxes and got my refund a few days ago. Enough to buy a new board. I was thinking of hitting up Reverb for a board but can't decide on what shape. I have it narrowed down to two shapes: Quad fish and a Bonzer. Probably go 6' or 5'11 with the fish but I don't know what size for the Bonzer. I'm really torn between the two and would like some input from the Pack, if you'd made it this far in the entry. Why would I need a Quad fish when I already have a twin fin? Why get a bonzer when they're only good in good surf... I really like the one Reverb did in his earlier posts.. C@mpbell bros might be out of my range.. Or what about the quad shortboard.. like the Firefly mentioned in previous posts? And do I really need 7 or 8 boards? I currently have 6 with one potentially one the way from my surf buddy's hookup.

6'1 DLC-a gift from my surf buddy.. don't really ride it much, but I've caught a few with it and it's fun, just not enough to float me.
6'2 Kane Garden Fish-my magic board.. super fun
6'4 Rusty Pirahna-birthday present from various people, including ex-gf.. kinda pissed me off.. she makes enough to pay for the whole thing.. whatver.. still dialing it it
6'6 Doc Single Fin-custom board that my best bud and surf buddy pitched in for (without me knowing).. really thick board.. don't really ride it much cause I think it's too heavy for its specs... its 3" thick!
9'6 Becker Legacy-first board I learned on.. this is what started it all
10' Weber Stylist-my tanker.. you want to catch small waves? well here you go.. wavehog

Bought and sold:
7'6 Becker LC3-didn't work for me.. then again, I was just starting.. probably should have held on to it.. dammit!

I'm thinking of an early sesh tomorrow morning, but I doubt it. Surf definitely after work on Friday, probably Sunse+ again..

I haven't shifted down from my big ring (frong) and middle ring (back) for a few rides now... last night made me sore.. damn those hills
FINALLY!! Those gardeners on the 405 that sit in the back of a tree truck finally got busted.. tree truck = uhaul truck, but only for gardening.. ok I just confused myself too
Thought my hand pump for my bike was broken... I was sitting on the side of the road trying to fix my flat.. bang it on the ground next time.. it works!!
Guitar is fun
Should I just forget the board and get a tri bike? Felt S22 or S32.. I saw the S22 on sale at Perf0rmance.. but I think it was too big for me..
