Here's the short version of my trip to South Island, New Zealand:

The Great:
Hang gliding-So rad and peaceful
Swedish accents rock- Swedish chick was in the hang gliding group and she wouldn't stop talking... she can talk all day for all I care
Glacier Hiking-Pretty impressed by my Grandpa who turns 80 in November. This was pretty much all uphill for 1.5 hours with a few breaks in between. A middle aged couple tapped out after 30 minutes of walking.
Went mountain biking with my cousins (younger)-Pretty fun 10k.. wish I could have gone faster
Surfed New Brighton-damn it took forever to paddle out the longboard rental. Surf shop owner was super rad, he gave a detailed description (verbal and written). Didn't get to visit those spots but damn I got excited.
So close to buying a NZ board.. never found the shop
Ate ostrich!!! Super tender meat.. tasted like the stirfry cause that's how it was prepared
Thermal pools
4WD tour of Lord of the Rings-well kinda we went off course to check out other stuff.. The guide thinks we heard and avalanche. That was cool... There was also a car that passed us.. pretty impressive considering the road conditions.. some holes were super deep
Salmon Farm-fed them then ate one of their relatives.. mmm.. fresh sashimi
Adrenaline Forest-zip lines, crossing on wires from tree to tree about 90m being the highest.
I wanted to marry every Kiwi chick I talked to
Flight there- personal tv's helped a lot
Chicken, feta cheese and banana-mmmmm!!! middle eastern wrap
Nutella and bread for breakfast!!

The No Bueno:
Lot's of chinese food... BOOO!!! Oh well, what can you do when your Uncle-in-law is Chinese
Nobody my age to hang with... didn't hit any bars
Everything closed early! Gas stationed was closed when we got to the hotel before the glacier hike at 9:30pm!!
Flight back-tv's were out of wack, food sucked and my flight was delayed
Assigned seating at the theaters... my cousins were trippin cause we were sitting 4 seats over from our assigned seats
Vegemite-WTF!! don't ever eat it!! I thought it was syrup.. YUCK!

Didn't:
Bungee jump-wasn't high enough
No Rugby-they were playing in South Africa, I think
No Soccer game
No Rap jumping- Kiwi's didn't know what it was

Didn't really do much until this past weekend. Friday (vacation day), took it off to see the doctor... the tube that connects my nose to my ear is clogged.. got meds.. Surfed Friday morning with the tanker.. I was a damn wave hog and didn't care. There were a few cuties... one of them got a kick out of me paddling out to meet a set wave and trying to turn the tanker... I hereby rename that sucker: The Tanker Turtle... slow mover... After that, went to Triathlon Lab (1hr turned into a 2hr drive!!) but it was worth it. I picked out a bike and I'll post pics later... named it the COW (chaos on wheels).. I'll need a lot of time on the bike to tame it.. The guy that helped me was super nice.. and patient.. I tried 4 bikes and spent almost 2.5 hours with him.. hopefully it'll be ready to pick up soon. I had some things upgraded... after that, visited my homie in the hospital then to Irvine to meet up with friends for our Vegas trip... got there pretty quickly.. Hit up Chuck E. Cheese's(closest source of food with beer), an all you can eat sushi place (MMMMM!!!), then Jet(club)... I've been over the whole clubbing thing, but I go for the best bud. Got back Sunday night and surfed Monday mid-day... I was out for 3 hours and I think I got sunburned... not as fun as Friday, but I did work some lefts so that's cool... I also slept the rest of the day.. I think I'm sick.. and to top it off, I got a tongue lashing from my Aunt who is a nurse.. I shouldn't be surfing until the meds are done.. OOPS!!!

I also forgot to mention that I got a free entry to the Redond0 Beach Tri... it's the day after the MudRun... GREAT!! I'm toast...

Surf this weekend and make up some training.. LATER!

Yo!

I'm back!! Just super busy at work to write.. I do most of my entries at work so I'll have to recap NZ later.

Dammit!! The tribike manufacturer I'm looking into ran out of my size. Now I have to call around to look for sizes. GRRRR

I need some surf too!!!
