Doh!

Went white water rafting with the chickie all day Saturday. Sooo much fun! If you've never, then you have to. Just one of those things that'll get your blood flowin. We did the Combo. Worth it!

Sunday, wake up early and still tired. I don't care! It's been a while since I've surfed. Pack up the surf truck and make it there by 8:30. WHAT!! Secos is going off!!! If that's true, then County will be just as good. Do 61mph, get there, check it and ahh yeah!! 3 wave sets, all about chest-shoulder. Suit up (wishin I took the full suit), hide the key, unsock the fish... errrr.. WTF!! I FORGOT MY LEASH!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!

Ask the guys behind me, "Do you have an extra leash?" Hey, it was worth a try.
Pause--"No, sorry. You'll want a leash for today."
"NO SHIT! WHY DO YOU THINK I'M ASKING!!!" I said that in my head, by the way. I figure, who the hell carries and extra leash? So, I change, sit and think. Ok, too early for the shops. I can surf leashless but do I really wanna put the pescado in the rocks? Nah. I can go home, go to church, come back and surf, then make it in time to watch Sound of Music with the chickie. Don't laugh.. you know you know the words!! Ended up just crashing after church... for 3 hours!!! Blessing in disguise? Probably.

Surf this Saturday for sure. No matter what! I don't care!! X Games Freestyle Moto X Sunday!!!! HELL YEAH!!! **making motorcycle noises*

???

While driving this weekend with the chickie, she points out the signs on the freeway that say, "Flex your power, conserve energy." Isn't being a little hypocritical? Conserve enegery? Then turn off the damn sign.

Didn't get to surf this past weekend but believe me, I almost did. But noooo!!! I wanna finish my triathlon under 3 hours and in order to do that, I need to train. So, instead of packing the surf truck, I packed my water bottles with ice, water and HEED. 6 miles out, I notice that I'm bouncing a lot. I pull over and just think that it needs a little air. Fill it up, well as much as I can, then back on the road. 4 miles after, I go over a railroad crossing and hear a sound no cyclist wants to hear, rim on rail. Dammit! I cross the street to change my tire and I'm using a big rig's shade. 2 minutes later, he leaves. Next option for shade, the porto pottie. It was a great idea for 2 minutes then the wind shifted. Gross!!! Tire fixed and back home. Should have just surfed. I heard it was fun. DAMMIT!

River rafting this weekend.. hopefully there's still some water... Maybe the Bu or Sunset on Friday.. if there's any swell..

Mint chocolate Clif bars are motherf-ing great! $11.97 for 12 at Performance.

Do you Doo Dah?

That was THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD IN A WHILE! Great people, great vibe and great waves. I finally met Surfsister and saw CYT. Surfsister's costume was rad! She surfed in full cycling gear.. even had the helmet and sunglasses! CYT was a nun (didn't get to meet her cause she was flying down the line when I was paddling back out) and I thought that her costume was pretty funny. Scarecrow dressed up as a hula girl. Her coconut shells had a bunch of wax on them after and if I had a dollar for every guy that said, "Next time no rashguard!" I'd only have $2. My costume, a Miller Lite can, didn't make it out of the water. The whole right side ripped after my first wave. I tried to save it by turning it into a cap but that just made paddling a lot harder. I did manage 2 really good waves; I just wish those guys that dropped in on me stayed on the wave. I've never been on a set wave with more one other person. Oh well. What a fun spot. I think I'll visit again.

Some notable costumes for that day:

A Viking- took out his or her sword on the wave
Tribal guy
Superman- (Tribal guy started humming what he thought was the Superman theme, but really was the theme to Indiana Jones. That was classic!)
Supergirl- Posed like she was flying when she was on the wave
Dude with a blowup doll
An Alligator or was it a Crocodile?- I didn't see him in the water.. we got there kinda late
A hottie Stewardess
A old dude in a Speedo with booties.. don't know if that was a costume
and a hottie in a blue rashguard and a skyblue board

Don't forget to vote for best costume:

We left after the raffle.. damn you Milton(winner's name.. I think)!!! Once I got home, I filled up the water bottles and trained. First set, 30 mile bike and 2 mile run in 96 degree weather. Next set, 30 mile bike and 2 mile run in 101 heat. Last set, 30 mile ride in 102 oven. Didn't run the last 2 miles cause I was kinda tired... Dinner was great that day because not only was I super hungry, but I think I found the new sushi spot. SWEEET!!!

Last night, I went to Bollywood with the chickie for her friends' Bdays. Damn the stacked parking!!! We didn't get out of the lot until 11. Funny note, some guy was next to use leaving the parking lot. Was only looking left and stopped short of the street. I yelled at him to stop then he gave me a dirty look. Umm yeah.. you almost ran over those pedestrians.. jackass.. Concert was ok. I wish I understood what they were saying. And from my observation, I think a lot of tribal dances have similiar movements.

More training and hopefully some surf this weekend. Don't forget the sunblock... I just tried the sample packets I got from Himaya. I think I've found a new blocker.

Go get it!!!

This or that

The Livestrong ride was motherf-ing rad! Too bad I got lost though.. I ended up doing 115 miles instead of 100... oh well.. guess I can say I know OC a lot better? Thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. I'm signing up for next year and making sure I don't leave the directions in the car :)...

Next Saturday, the 15th, is the Doo Dah Surf: but so is the 12th ANNUAL SURFER JOE'S SUMMER LONG BOARD CLASSIC: . I wonder how that's gonna work... hmmm... maybe next year?
