WANTED FOR ASSAULT

On 11/29/06, approximately 6:52pm, Officer Sandy Claus was dispatched to the corner of Damn Cold St. and F-ing Breezy Ave. Officer SC found the BeanCounter rolling on a neighbor's lawn yelling obscenities and "Get that Motherf-er!!!" After some calming down, Officer SC interviewed the victim. The BeanCounter was on the start of his 5 mile run and 2 minutes in, he was attacked by what he describes as a pine cone. He was not able to get a good look of his face but was able to provide a description to the artist. This pine cone is considered dangerous. Please do not try to approach the attacker.

It puts the lotion on its skin!

You guys ever watch Joe Dirt? Hi-larious movie. I'm a sucker for stupid funny movies. Speaking of movies, I have made it my goal to watch all the Holiday movies this year. So far on the list: Sant@ C!aus 3, D3ck the H@lls, H@ppy Feet and Un@ccompanied M!nors (sorry, don't want searches pulling up my blog). Call me stupid or call me if you wanna see these movies.

So I kinda lied about the whole ,"I don't care, I'm just gonna surf," phrase. Out of the 6.5 days I had to surf, I only surfed 2. Only one wave to talk about. I caught it earlier than usual, popped up solid and was able to pump a few times. This was the feeling I've been waiting for. Can't wait for some better surf and really work it.

I also cooked this Turkeyday. I fried a 16lb turkey. Had to cut it in half cause my fryer can only take 14lbs max. If you've never fried a turkey before, try it. Super good and less than half the time of cooking it in the oven. Also made some sides, 3 types of potatoes and some creamed corn. I was too tired to make the cookies (I surfed and ran before I cooked) so I'll have to make them this weekend. I think this is the first time I've gotten excited about the holidays in a long time.

FYI, there is a P@ul Frank warehouse sale this Friday to Saturday and a RVC@ warehouse sale next weekend. I'll let you guys know if I hear of anymore.

HO HO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Delayed Type-action

Last weekend, I only surfed Friday. One of the perks of working at 621; random days off! So I took the Rusty with me and finally went right! I caught a lot of waves but still having trouble putting my front foot farther than my back one. Still super fun, but I know I can do more if I get a solid popup.

By reading Whiff's blog, looks like I should have gone south. Oh well.

Cool thing I saw that day. Some guy on a beater board (yellowing, peeling stomp pad and patches). I looked at his leash and it had rope on the ends; rope from the cuff to leash and from leash to plug. Made me think, fuck all the hoopla about your hobby. You don't need the latest stuff gear. You just need the stoke. Thank you, my friend, for reminding me!

On another note: anyone interested in an indoor bike trainer? I have some information on a high quality one for super cheap.

On another note: WTF!!!

SPICY!

Last night, I went on a bike ride for 82 minutes, and decided to make some Tom Yum(Hot and Sour) Shrimp instant noodles. I follow the directions and only put a quarter of the seasoning in; trying to stay away from the sodium. 3 minutes later, I start to eat it. Super good noodles.. then it hit me.. SPICY!!!!! Holy shit my mouth is on fire! I waited a few minutes and my mouth was still on fire! I figure it can't get any worse and finish the bowl.. I'm not a food waster. After I finish it, I reach for some chocolate milk. Not working! Maybe cause it was soy chocolate milk? Then I get some water and ice. Still not working! I finally just keep the ice in my mouth and suffer for the next 10 minutes. I was still sweaty so I took a shower. WTF! My lips were hurting from the water. Note to self: Thai food is gnarly hot and I can't take it! And for those of you wondering, no, my ass was not on fire.

On a side note, I went 25mph on a flat road with no wind. Previous fastest flat road speed was 23mph. Woo hoo!

Definitely surf tomorrow.

OUCH!

Last Saturday, I surfed CL. Bunch of waist high wind chop with the occassional belly button high wave. I'm starting to catch a lot more waves with the new stick. Still going left! I finally caught my first right. Seriously, one to remember. I did a bottom turn and tried to go up the face and over, but I didn't and got sucked over the falls, turned upside down and hit my head on the ocean floor. Dammit! I rubbed it for blood and all I got was sand and hair. Sweet! I paddled back out and surfed for another 30 minutes. Probably not a good idea but oh well. Got home with the worst headache but still managed to rebuild the surfboard rack and hang my bike. Took about 3 hours, 45 minutes in Home Depot.. that place is rad. Now all my board fit and there is a lot more room to take up. :)

Headache lingered the rest of the weekend so I just played couch potato. I hate sitting still. I had so much training planned. Oh well.

Dare I say it? Surf all 3 days this weekend? Hopefully!

Wanna Trade?

I have an old wetsuit (possibly 2 if the new Vapor fits) and a women's spring suit (from ex-gf). They're just gathering dust in the garage. If anyone is interested, let me know. Only catch is you have to come pick it up or meet me at the beach.

The goods:

4/3 XXLS Aleeda fullsuit. Don't laugh, I was way chubby when I first started. Now I'm just chubby. This suit has a hole in the small of the back. You can probably glue it together.

O'Neil women's spring suit and rashguard. Size 10.

Things I'd be willing to trade for:
Wax, leash (6'), t-shirt(L) or wax.

The Review

I took the new board out last Friday and Saturday in knee to waist with the rare chest high set. First hour was miserable! Lots of waist high waves to be had but I let them all pass. After that, I was able to get the board to work for me. I was paddling faster and catching some closeouts. I did manage to catch a chest high wave and went left. The board felt really good under my feet and I managed a mini snap and WTF, I found myself heading to shore after the move. Usually, I just fall down. SWEET! I see a lot of potential with this board. Can't wait to have it dialed in and start doin more progressive stuff.

With the new edition to the quiver, I need to rebuild the rack. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know! I have 4 shorties and 2 longboards and not enough space!

I also bought a new wetsuit from www.sierratradingpost.com. The suit was $189 and new members get 20% off. Price shipped was $163. This week, I found out that the suit is now $151. So with the new member price it would be around $130 shipped. I did try to ask for a change on my purchased wetsuit, but no dice. I think I'll try the 800 number cause the online chat chick was like the soup nazi.. NO DEAL FOR YOU!!! Why don't I return it you ask? I'll have to eat the original shipping, $12, and return shipping $5. So all in all, I'd save about $17. I'll still give them a call.

And I hate being busy at work! I can't remember if I sent out my cellphone rebate! Dang it! Hopefully a $50 check will come in the mail.

And if you're interested, dockers.com is having a sale. 30-40% off at check out. I bought 3 pairs of pants and used google check out. $116 shipped. Woo hoo!!

Speaking of all this money, we got our merit increases. Woo hoo!! I got more than the minimum! SWEET!

Later crocodiles!
