I'm BLEEDING!!!

For the first time in my short running career, my nipples.. actually nipple, BLED!!! This past Saturday, I went on an 8 miler and ended up with a bloody right nipple. Good thing I was wearing a dark colored shirt.. oh wait, no I wasn't. DAMMIT!! Kinda feels like the first time I surfed. I trunked it, the water was cold and my nipples got super sore.. for 3 days!!! I'm gonna stop at a store and pickup some waterproof b@nd @ids.

And, I think I picked a great time to stop surfing... rain last week and predicted rain during this week too but Saturday is predicted to be 72! Great running weather.

The next couple of weeks are pretty busy and I'm doing my first triathlon of the season! Woo Hoo!!! Oh, and did I mention that I'm going to visit the Kiwi's? AHH YEAH!!!

Broke his head

So all last week, I planned to do so much.. surf, run, go out and hang with super rad chick.

Friday, I leave work and head to Sunse+. That's where it got bad. Took me almost an hour to get there when it usually takes 30 mins. Get there and check the surf, nada. But hey, there are people in the water so there's gotta be something. No, not really. Managed half a ride. I got up half way and held the rail of my fish and tried a super mini head dip. Yeah!! Finally got my hair wet after about 30 minutes of just sitting and chasing. Got out about an hour later and headed to the bike shop and zj's. Big mistake. It took me forever to get there. Driving home was no fun either. I got off at 4 and didn't get home until 9:30. But I did manage to find a pair of sandals I liked. Check out the S!mple sandals. $55 at zj's but I ordered them on line for half the price. Oh and I did pick up a few (un)needed items.

Saturday was revenge day for me. On tap? Surf and run. Only half of that worked. I woke up late and drove to C0unty with the tanker. Soo much fun! Waist to chest, I think. 2 hours of constant wave catching and paddling back out with the occasional rest here and there. For a while, another longboarder and I were holding one of the peaks in front of the drain pipe. One wave of mention. Took off on one of the set waves. A lot of them were closing out after my bottom turns but this one just wouldn't break. I kept pumping the tanker just like the other good longboarders. Geez that thing is heavy! While on the wave, I noticed a sound of moving rock. I thought I had gone too far in (super low tide) but it was my tail making all that noise. Ended it with hitting the lip (if wanna call it that) and headed for the beach and jumped off, in waist deep water. A few waves after this, I started walking the board trying to at least hang 5. I have forgotten how to cross step so I'm back to the good ol' hop over to the nose move. Managed a hang 5 and tried to get covered. Yeah, I know. What was I thinking!! I was way too high on the wave and got pitched, tumbled and popped up under my board and hit the side of my head. No blacking out or stars, but I did have a gnarly bump on my head. I headed home after 30 minutes. Got home, and slept.. Pretty much slept the entire weekend away. Damn that bump really messed me up.

I did get out Sunday nite to see a movie premiere with the best bud. Mingled with a few surfers and artists. The movie inspired me. There is no right way of art.

So from now until after the marathon, no more surfing for this dude. Doesn't hurt as much to say that cause of the expected rain at the end of the week.

Can you feel it?? It's almost race season!!!

I think I'm done

With asking my friends if they want to go surf.

First they find out that I surf and when I explain the Stoke and they tell me, "Give me a call next time you go out. I want to learn." Actually, the first thing they ask me is, "Where do you surf." I used to reply, "Insert favorite spot here." But they never knew where it was. So now, my reply is, "The Pacific ocean."

Yes, I've called, emailed and texted several invitations to them, but have they ever come out? NOPE! After the 3rd excuse... I start to get annoyed, but still send out the invitations because I want to share the Stoke.

Today was the last draw. This friend has been wanting to paddle out with me for the past 3 months. His excuse? He forgot to bring his wetsuit.

Unless you're the best bud, that special someone (super rad chick) or regularly surf... NO MORE INVITATIONS FOR YOU!

Rant over. See you in the water!

MY DATE!!!

As you know yesterday was V@lentine's Day so I left work early to beat the traffic. Didn't work out too well because I only got to my hood 5 minutes early. Before getting home, I stopped by a store to pick up some needed "things" for my date. Once I got home, I watched some TV and got ready for my date. I was supposed to be ready by 6:30 but didn't leave the door until 7. I really didn't put on anything nice, just enough to keep me warm. My date gave me a hug and we were off. Things started to got hot and heavy once I turned her on! I swear to you my heart rate went up 60 beats per minute! I shed some clothing because I started sweating so much. I did take a few rests here and there, but nothing long than 2 minutes, I think. This went one for about an hour and a half. Funny thing is, I think I could have gone for another 45 minutes or so. I had a great time and so much fun.
Once I got home, I took a shower because I didn't want to go to bed all sweaty and stinky.

What really happened:
Before I go home, I hit the running store to pickup some socks and b0dyglide (try it around your wrist and ankles for your fullsuit.. makes it easier to get that thing on/off). Watched some tv and dressed up in a long sleeve with running jacket cause it was kinda cold and started my run. After about 2 miles, I took off the head band that covered my ears cause I was getting hot. Took me about an hour and a half to go 8 miles (2 long hills totaling 1 mile) and got home feeling like I could have gone farther if I wanted to.

And there you have it. My V@lentine's day was with my heart rate monitor and 8 miles in the semi cold.

Hope to surf Sunse+ after work tomorrow. I'll be there around 4:30. Also have a 3 day weekend and hope to surf more, run 12 miles and go out with super rad chick from concert. AHHH YEAH!!!!

V-DAY!!! **vomit**

Wanna hear it?

Well here it goes! (no real surf content)

Friday, I called in sick so that I could squeeze in the 20 mile run. The run went well. Took me about 4 hours and some change. I swear to you, I hit every damn stoplight in my city. Weather started out pretty cool so I wore a long sleeve tech shirt. 2 hours in, the sun shows up and warms me up. Good thing the long sleeve was black :(... Miles 1-15 were cool; no problems just the heat factor starting to bother me. 15-18 were hell. I wanted to rip all my clothes and heart rate monitor off. I started going crazy... I caught myself getting mad at stoplights.. GRRRR!!! Miles 18-20 were a blur... they went by so fast but I swear you could have walked faster than I ran it. And you know what? 20 miles isn't so bad. Took a nice long ice bath and rub myself down with some sports cream.
After a few hours of rest, drove down to the OC to the best bud's place. "What? Ex-gf from high school is cooking dumplings? I think I'll get some McDonald's." Load up the car and head to the border. 2 hours in a car never went by so fast. We were having so much fun and were super loud. I'm so glad I wasn't driving.
In Mex, we pull off the freeway onto a test your suspension road. This didn't do any favors for the people with hangovers the next day. Unload, drink some and headed to the beach, which was 35 steps away. Damn I should have brought the board!! 6-10ft my ass! More like 6-10 inches. Long story short, 5 of the 7 ended up in the ocean. One was completely naked and the rest in bras, panties or boxers. They tried to get me in but I didn't cave into the peer pressure. After that, we cleaned up and drank a little more. Ok, a lot more. I think everyone stayed up because the first person to fall asleep got drawn on. Ef-gf-from-HS was the first to go. Her Mex code name is El Gato. You'd have to see the pictures.
Next day, drove to Puert0 Nuev0 for some lobster. Muy bueno! I love the tortillas there. Drove back and on the way back, bought some food, fireworks and a donkey pinata. I think we all took naps after that. Woke up a few hours later to some carne asada. MMMM..
After a few minutes of "decorating" the donkey, we took it to the beach and played with some fireworks. Oh, and did I mention the gnarly "firework" aka TNT, I mean dynami.. I mean stick that some random dude gave us? We played with some roman candles, lit some bottle rockets, and those missle things (my all-time favorite). After about a few minutes of this, we saw a flashlight pointing towards us so we scattered and headed back. But only after we "stuffed" the donkey. The whole time I was bracing myself for the loud bang, but it ended up just smoldering. Good thing there was a security guard there to point us to the stairs to the house, with his flashlight. Hee hee!
After a cold shower, we headed to P@pas and beer. It wasn't that crowded. Had a little too much to drink but held my own until we got home.
I was the first to go, but I didn't get any art.. probably cause I locked the door to my room. Which reminds me! I a room to myself! Woo hoo!!
Sunday morning and we all roll out of bed, 15 minutes AFTER checkout time. Oops! Ahh well.. we pack up and head to the exit and what do we find there!?!?! THE DONKEY!!! Someone in the car said, "Wouldn't that be dope if the donkey was at the front gate?" HHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It seems that Senor Burro got more decorations.. AHH YEAH!!!
On the way back, we stopped for some food. MMMM!!! Dim sum!!! "Hi, I'm 'The Driver'" Bypassed all the people waiting and sat right down. Turns out they had a table for 7 and there wasn't a party of 7 waiting.
Get back to the OC, get ready and head to the Cave to pick up the SRA to see one of my favorite bands. I'm really stoked that I took her. The whole time we were talking, I kept thinking to myself, "Whoa, I could really date this chick." So much in common. Wish me luck!

They won again

Lemon Coolers, my most favorite girl scout cookie, has been retired.

The terrorists win a little bit.. again... dammit!!!

When will the madness end?

This weekend is gonna be another busy one! So busy, I'm gonna call in sick Friday so I can run the scheduled 20 miles. Then head to the best bud's pad to make that trip to Ros@rito. I checked the surf report and it's forcasting 6-10ft waves. Damn, that might be a little too big for my first time surfing K-thirty8. I'll bring the board just in case. Then, Sunday night, I'll be seeing one of my favorite bands with a really cute chick (no hitting on her until after v-day)! WOOO HOOO!!! Monday is gonna SUCK!! Good thing we have a 3 day weekend next week!

Check the clip! These guys are motherf-ing crazy!

2 for 1 Mondays..

It's so cold that the wave freezes when it hits shore. 47 degrees doesn't sound so bad right now, now does it, Cap'n Surf Queen???

Good Times!

Friday afternoon, there was this crane that fell near the 1o1 and 4o5N that caused some gnarly traffic. It took one friend 2.5 hours to get home, my carpool buddy hung out at the mall until 7 and got home in 2 hours and the carpool buddy's friend took 4 hours to get home. Me, I didn't get home until 4AM. I didn't go straight home though. ;)
After work, I headed to HB to pickup my race packet and met up with my good friends at www.goforitsports.com (a great source for all your Triathlon gear). Then, headed out to the 0C for a friend's bday at B0iling Cr@b. Super good food and a hot chickie sitting across from me. We made her dip her whole hand in some sauce and she didn't clean her hands off until the end. After a few hours of eating, we went to some club. Good times. Met 3 other chickies through the bday friend. One of them was cute, but once the said, "Let's go smoke," the hottness factor died. Ahh well. Get home at 4 and wake up at 7 to hit up C0untyline with the Pirahna. Super high tide and the point was almost Maliz00 crowded. I think I caught 3 or 4 waves and my first wave was the best. I caught one of the set waves that slipped through the longboard crowd. Popped up, did a bottom turn, hit the lip, went down and looked back. I dropped in on someone so I pulled off. It was good until it lasted. There was a sponger getting in the water in a green full suit. Dude looked like Gumby. I took one wave in and did the rock dance out. I was standing on one of the rocks and it decided to move and me me fall. I landed on my knees and my right calf cramped, big time. My board also hit the rocks but nothing happened. FWEEH! Saw a few photogs. Is this the new trend "Hey, I think I got some pics of you, check out my website, you can buy some pics."
At home, Mom was cooking up a storm (crab and shrimp for days, literally). Family came over to celebrate her birthday. Great times. Took a long nap; about 7 hours, ate a little then another 4 hours of sleep.
Up at 6am and drove to HB for 13.1 miles of goodness. And in true Beancountingsurfer fashion, I got to the start line 20 minutes after the start time. Dammit! Good thing this was a half-marathon so my time didn't start until after I ran over the start mat; we had timing chips. I was going pretty well and was amazed I was trucking so fast. I looked up my times, pace at mile 5: 10:38, pace at mile 9: 10:42. Woo hoo! I'm gonna beat my goal of 2hrs 30 min. Hit mile 10, dammit! My calf starts hurting!! Damn that hill! I think I took it too fast. Mix of walk and run was strategy. Run until you feel the cramp coming then walk. I finished 2 minutes over my goal. Good enough for me. A few noticables: some guy was running the marathon.. wait for it.. BAREFOOT!. Another guy was running the half carrying two American flags; they said he does this in all his races (passed him at mile 6). Some foreign dude singing: "Proud to be an American" at the top of his lungs. I raced a kid the last 50yrds to the finish line. I let him win.
After that had lunch with my uncle at Y@rdhouse and head to a friend's place to watch that game. Great game with lots of action and a great group to watch it with. Then sushi with the bros to end the weekend.

On tap this week, ask for Friday off so I can run 20 miles, then Ros@rito with the best bud and friends and see my FAVORITE BAND Sunday night. Damn, I'm having a lot of fun.

And if I haven't said it before, I'll say it now: The Red H0t Chili Peppers suck!

Hey Clayfin, how'd your wife do?

WTF!

A power heated wetsuit!!! Crazy!! Up next? The automatic board waxer.

This weekend is Mom's bday lunch at home with a dump truck worth of seafood, 13.1 miles in HB and the Super B0wl. AHH YEAH!!
